Connect Scout to Your AI Assistant

The Scout MCP tool lets you connect your Scout business account to a supported AI assistant, allowing you to manage your business using natural language.

Written by Paula Andrea Ivanoff

Once connected to a supported AI assistant, you can quickly schedule appointments, manage customers, review invoices, run reports, and perform everyday tasks—all while using the same permissions as your Scout account.

Instead of navigating through menus, you can simply ask questions like:

  • "What appointments do I have today?"

  • "Assign Friday's walks to Sarah."

  • "Show me unpaid invoices."

  • "Run last month's revenue report."

Once connected, your AI assistant can securely access your Scout account using the same permissions as your Scout login.

Note: This feature is currently available to select Scout customers. If you're interested in using the Scout MCP tool, please contact Scout Support.

Before You Begin

Before connecting your AI assistant, make sure you have:

  • An active Scout business account

  • Your Scout business login email and password

  • A supported AI assistant that supports MCP connections

Connect Your AI Assistant

To connect Scout, use the following MCP server:

"scout-mcp": {
"url":
"https://mcp.scoutforpets.com/mcp"
},

Then:

  1. Open your AI assistant's MCP, Connectors, or Integrations settings.

  2. Add a new MCP server using the URL above.

  3. Select Connect, Authorize, or Sign In.

  4. Sign in using your Scout business email and password when prompted.

  5. Return to your AI assistant once authorization is complete.

After connecting, try a simple request such as:

"What appointments do I have today?"

to verify everything is working correctly.

What You Can Do

Once connected, your AI assistant can help you with everyday business tasks, including:

  • View, create, and update appointments

  • Assign staff to appointments

  • Find customers and pets

  • Create and manage invoices

  • Run business reports

  • View and update supported business information

Simply describe what you'd like to do using natural language.

Best Practices

  • Be specific when making requests.

  • Include customer names, pet names, staff names, and dates whenever possible.

  • Review important changes before approving them.

  • Double-check billing or recurring appointment changes in Scout when appropriate.

  • Reconnect your account if your session expires.
